Meet the New Faces of UCLA Men's Basketball: Transfer Students Ready to Make an Impact in the 2026-27 Season

The UCLA men's basketball program has recently welcomed four new transfer students, Filip Jovic, Sergej Macura, Jaylen Petty, and Azavier "Stink" Robinson, for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Macura, a junior, has two seasons of eligibility left, while Jovic, Petty, and Robinson will join as sophomores with three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Macura, a 6-foot-9 forward from Slovenia, played at Mississippi State, while Jovic, a 6-foot-8 forward from Bosnia and Herzegovina, excelled at Auburn. Petty, a 6-foot-1 guard from Seattle, previously played at Texas Tech, and Robinson, a 6-foot-2 guard from Indianapolis, was at Butler.

The head coach, Mick Cronin, expressed his excitement about the new additions, highlighting their potential impact on the team. Jovic and Macura are expected to strengthen the frontcourt, while Petty brings shooting skills to the backcourt, and Robinson is known for his defensive prowess.

Jovic had a solid season at Auburn, averaging 6.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, with notable performances in key games. Macura contributed 5.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game at Mississippi State, showcasing his versatility on the court. Petty had a successful freshman year at Texas Tech, averaging 9.9 points and demonstrating his shooting abilities. Robinson, despite a shortened season due to injury, showed promise at Butler with his scoring and playmaking skills.

These four transfers will join incoming freshmen Javonte Floyd and Joe "Jojo" Philon in bolstering the UCLA men's basketball program for the upcoming season. The team looks forward to integrating these new talents and building on their success in the coming year.
