Salvon Ahmed: A New Addition to the Chicago Bears' Running Back Corps
The Chicago Bears have added experienced running back Salvon Ahmed to their roster, as reported by Jordan Schultz. Ahmed, who initially joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers in 2020, found his way to the Miami Dolphins after being waived by the 49ers. In his rookie season, Ahmed showcased his skills by rushing for 319 yards and three touchdowns on 75 carries, averaging 4.3 yards per carry.
Following his promising debut season, Ahmed spent the next few years as a backup running back for the Dolphins. Despite limited playing time, he demonstrated efficiency with 0.271 EPA per carry in 2022, according to PFSN’s NFL HQ. With Travis Homer no longer on the team, Ahmed will battle with Roschon Johnson for the third-string running back position, although he may also contend for the fourth-string spot alongside Brittain Brown, Deion Hankins, and Coleman Bennett.
