City of Fresno Secures Legal Victory in Lawsuit Against Central Valley Community Sports Foundation Over Granite Park Lease Termination

Fresno recently achieved a legal victory as a judge ruled in favor of the city in a lawsuit against the Central Valley Community Sports Foundation (CVCSF) regarding Granite Park. The city had announced its decision to terminate the lease with CVCSF in November 2024. The lawsuit alleged that the operator, Terance Fraizer, owed the city more than $1 million in unpaid rent and fees. The City of Fresno stated that the foundation owed over $1.3 million to the city. Despite Fraizer's claims of unfair targeting by the city, the court ruled in favor of Fresno during the pre-trial proceedings, allowing the city to take immediate possession of Granite Park. City Manager Georgeanne White expressed satisfaction with the judge's decision and looks forward to utilizing Granite Park for the benefit of residents. The legal process is ongoing, with CVCSF expected to appeal and file a motion to stay by May 28, followed by a hearing on June 12.
