A fire and explosion occurred on a barge at a Staten Island shipyard, resulting in injuries to three firefighters. Two of the firefighters sustained serious injuries, according to the FDNY. There is a possibility that a worker is still trapped inside the location. The injured firefighters and a civilian were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The incident took place at the shipyard on Richmond Terrace between Lockman and Andros Avenues around 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
