Meet TCU Women's Basketball's Newest Star: Claudia Contell and the Rising Horned Frogs

TCU women’s basketball team has added Spanish guard Claudia Contell to its roster for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Contell, a standout player with experience in the Euroleague and Liga ACB, brings impressive stats from her time with CB Gran Canaria. She averaged 16.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game during the 2025-26 season and was named MVP of the U20 European Championship in 2022.
Hailing from Valencia, Spain, Contell will join the Horned Frogs with four seasons of eligibility. TCU has been busy in the transfer portal, securing a strong class that includes players like Bella Hines, Lara Somfai, Jadyn Wooten, Lanie Grant, Camille Williams, and Avery Hjemstadt. The team also boasts returning players like Clara Silva, Sarah Portlock, and Clara Bielefeld.
In addition to Contell, TCU will welcome Australian guard Jessie-May Hall and Belgian center Laura Vilcinskas to the team.
