Recluse": A Terrifying Horror Film Executive Produced by Steven Schneider

Steven Schneider, known for his work on horror films like "Paranormal Activity" and "Insidious," has joined "Recluse" as an executive producer under his indie label Spooky Pictures. The film, directed by Henry Chaisson, will make its world premiere at the Escape From Tribeca section of the Tribeca Film Festival. The story follows Joan, a sound recordist who returns to her father's estate after a fire, uncovering a dark family secret along the way. The cast includes Sasha Frolova, Xander Berkeley, and Toby Poser, with Mia Vallet, Kimball Farley, and Frankie Seratch in supporting roles.

"Recluse" is described as a terrifying horror film that combines chilling storytelling, striking visuals, and haunting sound design to create an immersive experience. Schneider praised Chaisson's debut as a bold and impactful entry into the horror genre. Chaisson not only directed the film but also wrote it, with a production team that includes Josh Lobo, Gillian Cooper, and others. The film is a co-production between Points North Films and Restricted Pictures, who are also working on the project "Night After Night."

Spooky Pictures, founded by Schneider and Roy Lee in 2020, focuses on producing high-concept, low-budget genre films. Their previous works include "Strange Darling," "Late Night with the Devil," and "The Plague." The label has several upcoming projects, including "The Shepherd" starring David Dastmalchian, "Hokum" by Damian McCarthy, and "Menace" starring Isabel May. "Recluse" is being handled for world sales by Blue Finch Films, adding to the growing list of successful projects from Spooky Pictures.
