Man Arrested for Allegedly Starting Fire Behind Safeway in Truckee
A man from Truckee was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon for allegedly starting a fire behind a Safeway store and fleeing the scene. The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. behind the Safeway on Donner Pass Road. Upon arrival, authorities found 35-year-old Samuel Soto, who was believed to have started the fire recklessly. Soto was arrested for unlawfully causing a fire to forestland. The fire burned less than an acre before it was extinguished by Cal Fire crews.
