Chapman appeared in 80 episodes of 30 Rock, a popular American sitcom created by Tina Fey. The show revolves around the chaotic production of a fictional sketch-comedy series and is set at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.

In 2010, Chapman underwent a successful kidney transplant after years of battling illness and undergoing dialysis. He had initially been diagnosed with hypertension and later discovered he had kidney disease, leading to the need for a transplant.

Following his time on 30 Rock, Chapman made appearances on other TV shows like Blue Bloods and The Blacklist, as well as in movies such as The Cobbler. He also created his own sketch show on YouTube called the Grizz Chronicles and was featured on the Webby-winning channel We the Internet TV.

In a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, Chapman's cousin described him as a man of strength and dignity who made a lasting impact. Despite his health struggles, Chapman continued to fight until the end, passing away peacefully in his sleep in May 2026.
