A talented singer, songwriter, and musician known as The Rural Lonely, also known as Ryan Kane, has been nominated for The Scottish Country Music Awards. The 35-year-old artist, residing in Inverkip, was surprised and honored to be among the top three finalists. The final event will take place at the Grand Ole Opry in Glasgow on June 14, where the winner will be announced. Ryan, a marketing manager for the Weir Group, has a rich musical background, having played various instruments and performed at renowned festivals like T in the Park and Reading and Leeds. His journey into country music began about 18 months ago, influenced by his wife Gemma, a country music enthusiast.
Ryan, who hails from Greenock, has lived in various places before settling in Inverkip with his family. He prefers working solo, allowing him to create music at his own pace. Under the moniker The Rural Lonely, Ryan released the first part of his album "One Door Closes and Another One Opens" last month, with the second part scheduled for release in September. The album has garnered attention from national radio stations. Despite his growing success, Ryan views music as a hobby he wishes to explore further, rather than seeking fame. He finds solace in creating music in his spare room, dedicating time to his craft.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Ryan was thrilled to compose a fan anthem for the Glasgow Warriors rugby club, titled 'We Are Warriors,' which supports the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity. Inspired by country music legends like George Strait and contemporary artists such as Luke Coombs and Cody Johnson, Ryan's music reflects his personal experiences and emotions. He looks forward to upcoming performances and projects, hinting at potential high-profile gigs on the horizon.
