Back-to-Back Bound: Tennessee Softball's Journey to the Women's College World Series
Tennessee softball has secured a spot in the Women's College World Series for the second consecutive year, marking their first back-to-back appearance since 2013. The Lady Vols, seeded No. 7, dominated their regional and super regional games at home to advance to Oklahoma City, where they will kick off their WCWS journey against Texas on May 28 at Devon Park. The tournament will feature two double-elimination brackets, culminating in a three-game championship series from June 3-5.
In the NCAA super regional, Tennessee triumphed over Georgia with 3-1 and 2-1 victories, securing their spot in the WCWS before many other super regional series had even begun. This will be the Lady Vols' third WCWS appearance in the last four seasons, with their last consecutive trips to Oklahoma City occurring in 2012 and 2013, led by standout players like Ivy and Ellen Renfroe and Lauren Gibson.
Having reached the WCWS semifinals in 2023 and last season, Tennessee is aiming to make a strong statement this year.
