Leicester City Announces Departure of 10 Players Following Relegation from Championship

Leicester City has announced the departure of 10 players following their relegation from the Championship. Among those leaving are forward Jordan Ayew, captain Ricardo Pereira, and striker Patson Daka. Ayew, a Ghana international, scored 11 league goals in 72 appearances for the Foxes. Pereira, who won both the FA Cup and the Community Shield during his time at the club, made 220 appearances and scored 15 goals. Daka, who joined from RB Salzburg for £23m, managed only five goals in 41 Championship matches this season.

Defender Jamaal Lascelles, signed on a short-term deal in January, is also departing along with defenders Jake Donohue and Jahmari Lindsay, midfielders Alfie Fisken, Toby Onanaye, and Olaoluwa Omobolaji, and striker Chris Popov. Popov scored seven goals during a loan spell with Morecambe this season. Leicester is in talks with 38-year-old goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to sign a new contract as his current deal is set to expire this summer.
