Phil Collins Talks New Music and Touring Plans Despite Health Struggles

Legendary rock singer and drummer Phil Collins recently discussed the possibility of recording new music and touring in an interview. Despite his health struggles, including Type 2 diabetes and a spinal injury, Collins expressed openness to the idea. He mentioned that he is in better health now and hasn't completely ruled out the idea of performing live again.

Collins, an eight-time Grammy winner, faced challenges due to his health issues, including kidney problems and multiple knee surgeries. Despite these obstacles, he remains optimistic about his future in music. He last toured with Genesis in 2022 and is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame later this year.

While Collins declined an invitation to perform at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, citing the need to be "match fit," he hinted at the possibility of returning to the stage in the future. He mentioned having lyrical ideas and unfinished projects that he is eager to explore in his home studio.

In addition to Collins, the Class of 2026 for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Performer category includes iconic acts like Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Wu-Tang Clan, Sade, and the late Luther Vandross. The induction ceremony promises to be a celebration of music legends and their enduring impact on the industry.
