Rescue Operation: Climber Trapped Under Boulder Near Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood
A man sustained serious injuries after becoming trapped under a large boulder near Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, prompting a response from the Hoodland Fire District. The injured climber, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found east of Silcox Hut in challenging terrain. The rescue operation, which involved various units, helicopters, and specialized personnel, successfully extricated the climber by 12:25 p.m. Medical assistance was provided on-site before he was airlifted to a trauma center for further treatment.
