Rock and Poker: The Unconventional Habits of Anthrax's Scott Ian
Scott Ian has revealed that he used to play online poker during Anthrax performances. His interest in the game started after participating in a celebrity poker tournament in 2006. He would bring his laptop on stage during shows and have his guitar tech help him play while he performed. Ian even signed a sponsorship deal with an internet gaming site and spent up to 90 hours a week playing poker.
Anthrax recently kicked off their tour with Iron Maiden, but drummer Charlie Benante was absent for the first show in Athens, Greece. Darby Todd filled in for Benante, who was playing with Pantera in Germany. Benante is expected to rejoin the band for their upcoming show in Sofia, Bulgaria.
