DC Universe Expands: A Look at the Exciting Projects Coming in 2027 and Beyond
The DC Universe is set to continue its momentum well into 2027 and beyond. James Gunn recently hinted at the next project in the DCU lineup after "Man of Tomorrow," revealing that "Creature Commandos" season 2 is on the horizon, with more projects to follow shortly thereafter. The animated show, which was renewed by HBO Max in December 2024, is expected to return in 2027, rather than the end of 2026 as previously speculated.
While "Creature Commandos" season 2 is currently in production, Gunn's update has sparked speculation about other upcoming DCU projects. Among the highly anticipated titles are the Wonder Woman reboot and the Batman film, "The Brave and The Bold," both part of the DCU's Chapter 1: "Gods and Monsters" slate. With Ana Nogueira and Christina Hudson working on the scripts for these films, fans are eager to see these iconic characters brought to life on the big screen.
Although the director for the Wonder Woman movie has yet to be announced, rumors suggest that Adria Arjona may be cast as the titular heroine in "Man of Tomorrow." If true, it would make sense for her solo project to be one of the next installments in the DCU franchise. Similarly, with Andy Muschietti attached to direct "The Brave and the Bold," it seems that the pieces are falling into place for Bruce Wayne's DCU debut.
