Summerbration at Reston Station: Celebrating America's 250th Anniversary with Music, Movies, and More!
Reston Station is gearing up for its annual “Summerbration” event series, featuring tributes to iconic American musicians like Bruce Springsteen and Prince. The series, organized by Comstock Companies and Reston Community Center (RCC), will kick off with Beloved Yoga classes and a Pat Benatar tribute band performance. This year’s Summerbration will also celebrate the U.S.’s 250th anniversary with a special “Red, White & Boom!” series leading up to the Fourth of July, featuring live music, fireworks, and various activities for attendees.
The “Red, White & Boom!” series will include performances by Bruce in the USA, The Prince Project, and The Darby Brothers, as well as a screening of the movie “The Sandlot” with interactive activities. The festivities will also feature appearances by the Budweiser Clydesdales, an ice cream truck, lawn games, photo booths, face painting, DJs, and themed food and beverage experiences. Comstock promises a lineup of exciting events for the community to enjoy throughout the summer.
In addition to the special Fourth of July celebrations, the regular Summerbration season will offer live music concerts on Fridays, movie screenings on Saturdays, and complimentary fitness classes. Highlights of the Fab Friday Live Music concerts include a Silent Dance Party and a Dolly Parton tribute performance. The movie screenings will feature family-friendly films like “Cars” and “Minions,” accompanied by themed activities and giveaways for attendees.
All Summerbration events are free, and attendees can enjoy up to three hours of complimentary parking at Reston Station. The partnership between RCC and Comstock aims to provide the community with opportunities to come together, enjoy music, and create shared experiences. Summerbration is part of RCC’s efforts to offer free concert series during the summer months, giving residents and visitors a chance to relax and have fun.
