Tragic Shooting Incident at NuWave Party Venue in Saline County: One Fatality, Two Injuries, and Juvenile Facing Charges

A shooting incident occurred outside a party venue in Saline County, resulting in one fatality, two injuries, and a juvenile facing criminal charges. The incident occurred during an "End of Year" party at NuWave, attended by several hundred juveniles. Saline County deputies responded to the shooting at 1:15 a.m. on May 24.

Gunfire erupted in the parking lot as the event was concluding, involving multiple unidentified individuals. Private security officers on duty at the event intervened in response to the shooting. During the incident, a security officer from Capstone Security Group observed 19-year-old Ahmon Harris firing a pistol into the crowd and subsequently shot and killed him.

Following the initial confrontation, the same security officer encountered a 17-year-old armed with a handgun pointing it at the officer. The officer fired again, injuring the teenager in the hand. The injured parties were treated at Arkansas Children's Hospital before being charged as an adult with aggravated assault and possession of a handgun by a minor.

Another victim, 18-year-old A'miyah Goolsby, was also wounded in the shooting. The authorities did not disclose the identity of the shooter responsible for her injuries. Goolsby received medical treatment at Baptist Health Medical Center and was later discharged.

The investigation into the shooting incident is ongoing, with authorities continuing to gather information and evidence related to the case. The tragic event has raised concerns about safety and security measures at public gatherings, prompting a closer examination of security protocols and enforcement to prevent similar incidents in the future.
