Denver Summit Announces Stadium Delay and Relocation of Home Games
The Denver Summit has announced a delay in the opening of its new stadium, forcing the team to relocate its upcoming home games. Due to construction delays caused by recent rain, the stadium's opening has been pushed back to July 18. As a result, the team's matches on July 3 against the Kansas City Current and July 12 against the Houston Dash will now be played at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The new stadium is expected to be ready for the July 19 game against the Portland Thorns.
The decision to move the games to Dick's Sporting Goods Park presents an opportunity to accommodate more fans with increased stadium capacity. Additional tickets for the relocated matches will go on sale on June 4. The temporary Centennial stadium, with a seating capacity of 12,000, will serve as the team's home until 2027, after which the permanent home at Santa Fe Yards will be ready for fans in 2028.
The Denver Summit is committed to providing a top-notch home-field atmosphere for its fans and appreciates their support during this transition period. The team looks forward to welcoming fans to the new stadium and continuing to create an exciting game-day experience for all attendees.
