Tragic Double Murder in Syracuse: Man Sentenced to 40 Years to Life for Killing Son and Girlfriend
A man in Syracuse, New York, has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for the murders of his 11-year-old son, Jeremiah Huff, and his girlfriend, Yeraldith Tschudy. David Huff admitted to shooting them with a shotgun at their home in Syracuse's Valley neighborhood. He was found hiding at a hospital shortly after the crime and was taken into custody by the New York State Police.
During his sentencing, Huff's family spoke about their memories of Jeremiah and condemned his actions. Prosecutor Ron Moran also spoke on behalf of Tschudy's family, praising her for her motherhood and kindness. Huff apologized for his behavior in court when he pleaded guilty to the murders, stating that he had a joke stuck in his head at the time.
