Grand Reopening Celebration: Tom Petty Park Unveils Stunning Renovations

The City of Gainesville is excited to announce the completion of renovations to Tom Petty Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event will take place on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tom Petty Park, located at 501 NE 16th Ave.
The park has undergone significant improvements, including the addition of eight new pickleball courts, seating areas, shade canopies, a multiuse trail with lighting, landscaping, a concessions and storage building, restrooms, a Bee City Gainesville pollinator garden, a stormwater pond, a solar lighting system in the parking lot, and LED lighting for various sports facilities.
These renovations, totaling $2.6 million, were made possible through funding from the Wild Spaces & Public Places half-cent sales tax, which was approved by voters. The enhancements to Tom Petty Park aim to provide a more enjoyable and functional space for the community to enjoy outdoor activities and events.
