Uber's Lost and Found Index: Retrieving Your Forgotten Items

Losing something in an Uber can be a frustrating experience, especially when you realize it after the ride has ended. Fortunately, Uber keeps a record of items left behind by passengers, offering a chance for these lost items to be returned. The annual Lost and Found Index released by Uber reveals the most common items forgotten in Ubers, ranging from clothing and keys to more unusual items like an ankle monitor or a live fish. The index also highlights the craziest food items left behind, such as a wedding cake, 70 tiramisu cakes, and even an entire Thanksgiving meal.

Among the 50 most unique items left behind, dentures with two teeth take the top spot, followed by unexpected items like a mini fridge, a dishwasher, and a coffee table. If you happen to leave behind a valuable or sentimental item in an Uber, you can now request a return trip directly through the Uber app. By accessing the "Activity" section in the app and selecting "Find lost item" in the Help category, you can report your missing item and coordinate its return with the driver who found it.

To initiate the return process, simply provide the address where you want the item to be delivered, confirm the fare for the return trip, and track the driver's journey back to you through the app. Upon the driver's arrival with your lost item, verify the return by showing the pin number associated with the trip in the Uber app. This convenient feature allows passengers to retrieve their lost belongings, whether it's a bucket of onions, a pound of molten cake, or a sack of marbles, ensuring that your precious items are not lost forever.
