A fresh glimpse of Jason Momoa’s portrayal of Lobo in the upcoming Supergirl movie has been unveiled. The film's promotional campaign is gaining momentum, with the director shedding light on the trauma experienced by the Girl of Steel.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Supergirl's release, as well as Jason Momoa's interpretation of Lobo in the movie. A new image from Empire Magazine offers a detailed view of the character, showcasing Lobo on his iconic cosmic motorcycle, the space hog.
In the photo, Lobo can be seen riding away from a fiery, chaotic landscape while smoking a cigar. His makeup closely resembles the recent Hot Toys figure, providing fans with a closer look at the anti-hero. Additionally, fans can catch a glimpse of Lobo's bike on the official popcorn bucket for the film.
Director Craig Gillespie shared insights with Empire Magazine about Kara's character, describing her as a traumatized and unapologetic hero in the DC Universe, distinct from Superman. Gillespie emphasized Kara's rough edges, stating that she is punky and edgy, reflecting her past traumas and demons.
Unlike Superman, Kara witnessed the destruction of Krypton and its aftermath before arriving on Earth, shaping her into a hardened version of the Girl of Steel. The film, based on the graphic novel Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, portrays a grittier side of Kara. Following the standalone movie, Supergirl is set to join her cousin in the 2027 film Man of Tomorrow, which has already received a strong violence rating from the MPA.
Supergirl, directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, is produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The highly anticipated film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026, offering fans a fresh perspective on the iconic characters and their intertwined stories.
