Cardi B Seeks Reimbursement of Over $100,000 in Legal Fees from Tasha K for Breach of Settlement Agreement

Cardi B is seeking reimbursement of over $100,000 in legal fees from gossip blogger Tasha K for breaching a settlement agreement by discussing the rapper's personal life. Tasha, who previously lost a defamation case against Cardi, violated the terms of the settlement by making disparaging remarks about Cardi's husband and the father of her child. As a result, a judge ruled that Tasha must cover the legal costs incurred by Cardi's attorneys to monitor her social media activity and ensure compliance with the agreement.
Cardi's legal team has filed a request for Tasha to pay $110,115 in legal fees, which were accrued over more than 100 hours of work to monitor Tasha's social media accounts and document violations of the settlement. Tasha, who declared bankruptcy in 2023 following the defamation judgment, has two weeks to respond to Cardi's request before a final ruling is made by the judge.
Despite a previously approved repayment plan for Tasha to pay $1.2 million to Cardi over five years and refrain from speaking publicly about her, tensions escalated in April when Cardi's attorneys accused Tasha of willfully violating the agreement. In May, Cardi filed a lawsuit against Tasha's husband for allegedly attempting to shield assets from collection after the defamation judgment. The legal battle between Cardi and Tasha continues as they navigate the terms of their settlement agreement and financial obligations.
