Arizona Supreme Court Blocks Prosecutors from Reviving Case Against Trump Allies in Election Conspiracy

The Arizona Supreme Court has blocked prosecutors from reviving a case against allies of former President Donald Trump who were involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, a Democrat, plans to seek a new indictment against Trump's allies after the court denied her attempt to revive the initial case due to a defect in the grand jury indictment. The case, which included Trump's former chief of staff Mark Meadows, attorneys Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman, and GOP activists who falsely claimed to be legitimate electors, was dismissed last year. The charges alleged a conspiracy to corrupt the election results in Arizona and disenfranchise voters. The case against Trump and his allies in Georgia fell apart, and a similar case in Michigan was dropped. Cases in Nevada and Wisconsin targeting false electors are still pending.
