Fatal Crash in Genesee County: California Man Arrested Almost a Year Later

A man from California has been arrested almost a year after a fatal crash in Genesee County, New York. Marquel Kennedy, 28, was driving an SUV on Route 63 in Bethany on June 16, 2025, when he attempted to pass two tractor-trailers by crossing the double yellow line and collided with an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcyclist, Ryan Farley, 40, from Hemlock, was killed in the crash, while Kennedy was taken to a local medical center for observation.

Following the incident, Kennedy was indicted by a grand jury and charged with second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He appeared in Genesee County Court for arraignment and was remanded to the Genesee County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash. Kennedy is scheduled to appear in court again on June 17.
