Paul Simon: The Quiet Celebration Tour - A Triumphant Return to the Stage

Paul Simon made a triumphant return to the stage after a seven-year break to promote his latest album, Seven Psalms. The concert featured a full performance of the album in the first act, followed by a mix of hits and fan favorites in the second act, including songs like "Graceland," "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard," and "The Boxer."
The tour made a stop at Seattle's McCaw Hall, where cameras captured the performance for the upcoming concert film, Paul Simon: The Quiet Celebration Concert, set to premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on June 26. A live album from the tour is also scheduled for release on October 9.
Simon expressed his joy at being able to play with musicians again, highlighting the camaraderie and elation that came with performing music that had a significant impact on him. The experience of the tour was described as one of the most extraordinary and joyous in his career.
In a trailer for the film, Simon opened up about the hearing loss he experienced in his left ear during the recording of Seven Psalms, which initially made him unsure about performing live again. The band for the tour included talented musicians like Caleb Burhans, Jamey Haddad, Gyan Riley, and others, with Simon's wife, Edie Brickell, joining him on select songs.
Following a successful European tour, Simon kicked off an American leg starting in Stanford, California, with upcoming shows in Forest Hills, Queens, and a final performance at Ravinia in Highland Park, Illinois on July 18. The tour has been a celebration of music and camaraderie, marking a joyous return to the stage for Paul Simon.
