Stormzy Fined for Using Mobile Phone While Driving: A Costly Mistake

Stormzy, the renowned rapper, was recently fined over £500 for using his mobile phone while driving his expensive Ferrari. The incident occurred when he was seen typing an address into his phone's map app while in stationary traffic near his home in Kingston upon Thames. Stormzy admitted to the offence and was fined £533 at Croydon Magistrates' Court, along with being ordered to pay additional costs and a victim surcharge. This is not the first time Stormzy has been caught using his phone while driving, as he was previously banned from driving for nine months in 2025 for a similar offence. The rapper, whose real name is Michael Ebenazer Owuo Junior, was pulled over by a police officer who observed him being distracted and not in proper control of his vehicle. Stormzy admitted to setting a route on his maps application and pleaded guilty to the offence.
