Los Angeles Dodgers Make Roster Moves: Trade, Injury Update, and New Addition

The Los Angeles Dodgers made a roster move before their game against the Los Angeles Angels. They traded left-handed pitcher Antoine Kelly to the Chicago Cubs and added right-handed pitcher Nick Frasso to the 40-man roster while transferring right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow to the 60-day injured list. Kelly, who joined the Dodgers on a minor league deal this offseason, has yet to make his MLB debut and had a 5.14 ERA in 21 innings at Triple-A Oklahoma City this year.

Glasnow, who left a start in early May with back spasms, won't be eligible to return until July at the earliest. Despite initial expectations of a short IL stint, Glasnow's recovery has been slower than anticipated. Manager Dave Roberts mentioned that Glasnow is still building up and waiting for clearance to start a progression. He has a 2.72 ERA in seven starts this season.

The addition of Frasso to the 40-man roster was a procedural move to prevent losing him. Frasso exercised his upward mobility clause, prompting the Dodgers to add him to the roster. This ensures that the team retains Frasso in their organization.
