Remembering Nic Smith: A Tribute to a Beloved Kentucky Football Player
The Kentucky Football community is mourning the loss of one of its own, redshirt freshman Nic Smith, who passed away at the age of 20. The program expressed deep sadness over the news and extended condolences to Nic's family, friends, and teammates. Nic, a defensive lineman from Loganville, Georgia, redshirted his freshman season at Kentucky and was pursuing a degree in Community Leadership and Development. He was known as "Big Happ" and was described as happy, friendly, and nice. Nic had aspirations of starting a food business after football and was remembered for his positive outlook on life. He is survived by his parents and six siblings.
The University of Kentucky shared a statement expressing their deepest condolences to Nic's loved ones and asked for privacy during this difficult time.
