International Coalition Takes Stand Against Extremist Settlers in the West Bank

In light of the escalating violence in the West Bank, a coalition of Foreign Ministers from Australia, Canada, France, Norway, and the United Kingdom have united to implement sanctions and other measures against extremist settlers responsible for the alarming levels of violence against Palestinian civilians.

Extremist settlers, supported by their allies, have been carrying out violent attacks on Palestinians, violating their human rights, and contributing to the illegal settlement activities that threaten the State of Palestine's existence and the potential for peaceful coexistence.

The perpetrators of violence have operated with little consequence for too long, often with the backing of the Israeli government, which has enabled settlement expansion and provided protection to violent settlers. The coalition urges Israel to hold those responsible for violence accountable, thoroughly investigate each incident, dismantle the outposts and organizations that promote violence, and put an end to incitement.

The coalition emphasizes that lasting peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians can only be achieved through the realization of a two-state solution. By recognizing the State of Palestine, the coalition members are reaffirming their commitment to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and safeguarding the two-state solution.

Australia, Canada, France, Norway, and the United Kingdom are prepared to take further action if Israel fails to address the escalating situation in the West Bank promptly. Together, they remain dedicated to working towards a peaceful resolution that ensures the security and well-being of both Israelis and Palestinians.
