Discretion: A Legal Thriller Series Starring Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning, Directed by Matt Shakman

Paramount+ has secured top talent for its legal thriller series, Discretion, with Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning in leading roles. The show has now enlisted director Matt Shakman, known for his work on projects like WandaVision and Fantastic Four: First Steps, to direct the first four episodes of the series. Shakman will also serve as an executive producer for Discretion.
The series, based on a short story by Chandler Baker, follows Fanning's character, Lenny, a summer associate at a law firm in Dallas who uncovers a dark truth hidden behind a web of NDAs. As she realizes she is entangled in the same agreement, she finds herself at odds with the firm's powerful female partner, Sharon (Kidman), challenging their mentor-protégé relationship and raising questions about the cost of keeping secrets.
In addition to Shakman, Baker is writing and executive producing the series, along with Susannah Grant, Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning, Brittany Kahan Ward, Kidman, Per Saari, Jordan Cerf, Joe Hipps, and others. Shakman's extensive TV directing experience includes acclaimed shows like Succession, Game of Thrones, and Mad Men, earning him multiple Emmy nominations. He is also set to direct a new Planet of the Apes movie for 20th Century Studios.
