Portland Resident Sentenced to Prison for Assaulting Federal Officer at ICE Facility

A Portland resident has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for assaulting a federal officer at the Portland U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. The incident occurred when the man threw a rock at an ICE officer, causing a significant injury. Subsequently, he and two others were observed using a stop sign to damage the main entry of the ICE building. The man was indicted on charges of aggravated assault on a federal employee with a dangerous weapon and depredation of federal property. He pleaded guilty to the assault charge and was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison, followed by three years of probation. Additionally, he was ordered to pay $8,000 in restitution.
