2025-26 NHL All-Rookie Team: Standout Players and Calder Trophy Finalists

The 2025-26 NHL All-Rookie Team has been announced, featuring standout players from the season. The finalists for the Calder Memorial Trophy are defenseman Matthew Schaefer of the New York Islanders, forward Ivan Demidov of the Montreal Canadiens, and forward Beckett Sennecke of the Anaheim Ducks. Additionally, goaltender Jakub Dobes of the Canadiens, defenseman Alexander Nikishin of the Carolina Hurricanes, and forward Jimmy Snuggerud of the St. Louis Blues have also been named to the All-Rookie Team. The voting was conducted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association at the end of the regular season.
Jakub Dobes, a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, led rookie goaltenders with 29 wins in 43 games for the Canadiens. Alexander Nikishin, a third-round pick in 2020, had an impressive season as a rookie defenseman for the Hurricanes, setting records for goals and points by a rookie blueliner. Matthew Schaefer, the first overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, had a historic season as an 18-year-old defenseman for the Islanders, setting multiple records and leading rookies in goals.
Ivan Demidov, the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, led all rookies with 62 points while playing in all 82 games for the Canadiens. Beckett Sennecke, the third overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, shared the rookie lead in goals and ranked second in points for the Ducks. Jimmy Snuggerud, the 23rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, had a strong season for the Blues, ranking fourth among rookies in points and boasting a solid plus/minus rating.
