Other notable cast members include Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, and Mia McKenna-Bruce portraying Linda McCartney, Yoko Ono, Pattie Boyd, and Maureen Starkey, respectively. The film is directed by Sam Mendes, known for his work on "American Beauty" and "1917."
Harry Lloyd takes on the role of the Beatles' longtime music producer George Martin, while James Norton has been confirmed to play their manager Brian Epstein. The four films will each focus on a different Beatles member's perspective, intertwining to depict the band's remarkable journey from Liverpool to global stardom, leading up to their breakup in 1970. This project marks the first time that Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles have granted full life-story and music rights for a scripted film.
Currently filming in the U.K., the four-part Beatles film is a collaboration between Sony Pictures and Neal Street Productions, led by Sam Mendes. The scripts were penned by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne, with Mendes directing all four films and serving as a producer alongside Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor. Alexandra Derbyshire is also involved in the production.
Scheduled for release in April 2028, Sony Pictures will finance and distribute all four films globally with full theatrical releases. Ben Schwartz, known for his roles in "Parks and Recreation" and "Sonic the Hedgehog," is a notable addition to the star-studded cast.
