From Coffee Plant to Chart-Toppers: The Journey of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham started their music career by writing songs for Buckingham Nicks in the early 70s. They initially recorded their music in a room at Buckingham's dad's coffee plant in Palo Alto. Working late into the night, they used a four-track Ampex tape recorder to create their music. Nicks would sometimes leave a cassette with a song for Buckingham by their coffee pot at home, with strict instructions not to change anything.

After the breakup of their band Fritz in 1971, Nicks and Buckingham decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue music as a duo. Despite facing setbacks, including being dropped by their label Polydor, their fortunes changed in 1975 when they joined Fleetwood Mac at the invitation of Mick Fleetwood. This opportunity came at a crucial time when Nicks was considering quitting music altogether.

The turning point for Nicks and Buckingham came in 1976 when Fleetwood Mac released their self-titled album, which became their first No. 1 album on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The success of songs like "Rhiannon" propelled the band to new heights, solidifying their place in music history.
