Brad Paisley to Headline Stadium of Fire in Provo: A West Virginia Connection to BYU

West Virginia Mountaineers fans have a special tradition of singing “Take Me Home, Country Roads” after games, connecting them to their home state. Brad Paisley, a native of West Virginia, will headline Stadium of Fire at LaVell Edwards Stadium on July 4. His father, Doug Paisley, has a friendly connection with BYU, as he stayed back to support the Mountaineers during a game against BYU in 2016.
Doug Paisley shared that they had interactions with BYU fans while living in West Virginia, including their neighbor Harold Livingston, whom they found to be nice. Brad Paisley performed in Utah in 2019 and was well-received by the crowd despite stormy weather. Doug still has a BYU shirt given to him by a BYUtv anchor and wore it after BYU joined the Big 12 conference in 2023.
The Paisleys have developed a fondness for BYU over the years, with Doug becoming a BYU fan due to the team's style of play and coaching approach. Brad Paisley previously headlined Stadium of Fire in 2015 and will return for the event in July after touring in Europe. The Paisleys will help celebrate America's 250th birthday in Provo, where Doug may or may not wear his BYU shirt, but will surely feel at home among the crowd of fans connecting West Virginia and BYU.
