The San Antonio Spurs have chosen country singer Mickey Guyton, a Texas native, to sing the national anthem for Game 5, potentially their last game of the season. The Spurs are facing a 3-1 deficit against the New York Knicks, making a comeback challenging. Guyton, a four-time Grammy nominee, gained recognition for her 2022 album "Remember Her Name" and made history as the first Black woman to co-host the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2021. She also performed the national anthem at Super Bowl LVI in 2022. Previous anthem singers for the series include Tori Kelly and Kels.
