Tony Hawk's Skate Jam: The Lost Looney Tunes Movie That Almost Was
Tony Hawk recently shared that he was close to being part of a Space Jam spin-off movie called Skate Jam, featuring Looney Tunes characters. He recounted the excitement of being approached by Warner Brothers for the project and how things quickly progressed, with storyboards being presented to him at a meeting in Los Angeles. Hawk was set to receive a $1 million upfront payment for his role in the film, but unfortunately, the project was eventually scrapped due to the underperformance of Looney Tunes: Back in Action in 2003. This setback led to the cancellation of several planned Looney Tunes projects, including Skate Jam. Despite the missed opportunity, fans can look forward to the upcoming film Coyote vs. Acme, which will bring back the beloved Looney Tunes characters in a new live-action/animation hybrid movie set to release on August 28.
