Domains is a fresh activity within the Animus that reimagines elements of Shadows in a fantastical setting. With five distinct maps to explore, each playthrough will present different challenges and modifiers that players must adapt to. The ultimate goal is to defeat the Daishos in each map to unlock intense boss battles against corrupted foes, all while contending with various modifiers that increase in difficulty as you progress.
Players can expect a range of challenges in Domains, from health boosts in easier levels to more complex negative modifiers in higher difficulties. Utilizing Animus Exploits can help counter some of these modifiers, but players will need to fine-tune their builds and skills to overcome the escalating challenges. Builds from the main game can be carried over to Domains, allowing players to utilize their existing gear while earning unique rewards exclusive to this feature.
One standout modifier in Domains is "Like a Prayer," which creates a damaging circle around the player that destroys objects within its radius. This dynamic gameplay element adds an exciting twist to the challenges players will face. By completing Domains, players can earn exclusive weapons and equipment that serve as a testament to their mastery of the game.
While Domains may not be narrative-driven, it offers a deeper look into the modern-day Animus setting through the character MOD, a hacker who creates these challenging domains. Exploring the lore and context surrounding MOD can provide players with additional insights into the game world and its future direction. Each domain presents its own unique challenges, such as the visually challenging Whiteout Domain inspired by harsh winter conditions.
To conquer Domains, players are advised not to overlook Yasuke, as his unique abilities and weapon versatility can be crucial in overcoming certain modifiers. By maximizing Yasuke's potential, players can enhance their chances of success in the domain runs.
