Riley Green's New Single 'Think As You Drunk': A Tribute to Toby Keith and a Chart-Topping Success

Riley Green has released a new single titled "Think As You Drunk," paying homage to his musical inspiration, Toby Keith. Green admires Keith's ability to write his own songs, which motivated Green to include many solo writes on his records. The song originated during a concert in Chicago in October 2024, where Green and co-writer Erik Dylan began crafting the chorus. They completed the song in February 2025 with writers Jessi Alexander and Wyatt McCubbin at 50 Egg Music.

The song evolved during the recording process, starting as an acoustic work tape before taking on a lively feel in the studio. Green collaborated with producer Dann Huff in Nashville, enlisting talented musicians like steel guitarist Justin Schipper, pianist Gordon Mote, and fiddler Stuart Duncan for the session. With the support of Toby Keith's estate, a posthumous vocal appearance from Keith was incorporated into the track's outro, blending seamlessly with the song's closing section.

A portion of the song's proceeds will benefit the Toby Keith Foundation, which aids children undergoing cancer treatment. Despite the initial excitement from Green's record label, the decision to include "Think As You Drunk" on his upcoming album, That's Just Me, was unanimous. The single debuted impressively on the Hot Country Songs chart at No. 24 and on Country Airplay at No. 29, coinciding with Green's ongoing tour, acting endeavors, and the anticipation surrounding his forthcoming album set to release this fall.
