The Lost Weekend: John Lennon Photography Exhibition by May Pang Comes to Missoula
This summer, Missoula will be hosting a unique exhibition featuring a rare collection of John Lennon photographs by photographer and author May Pang. The three-day exhibition at LA Design will take place from July 13 to July 15, with Pang present to provide insights into her time with Lennon and offer visitors the opportunity to view and purchase her work. The exhibit, titled "The Lost Weekend: The Photography of May Pang," showcases candid and intimate photographs taken during Lennon's "Lost Weekend" period in the 1970s, capturing relaxed and unguarded moments of the iconic musician. This era was marked by Lennon's creative output, including acclaimed solo albums like Mind Games and Walls and Bridges, as well as collaborations with artists such as Elton John, David Bowie, and George Harrison. Pang's presence during this period has added to its mythos, with her whispering Lennon's name on the track "#9 Dream." She has also published books reflecting on her time with Lennon, further enriching the narrative of this creatively charged chapter in Lennon's career.
