The Wall Tour: Pink Floyd's Epic Journey and Roger Waters' Farewell

On June 17, 1981, Pink Floyd concluded their 31-date The Wall Tour at London's Earl's Court, marking the end of a five-night residency at the venue. This show also marked Roger Waters' final full concert with the band. The tour kicked off in February 1980 to promote Pink Floyd's iconic concept album, The Wall, and took them across the U.S., the U.K., and Germany. The performances were known for their extravagant pyrotechnics and elaborate staging, including a flying airplane that crashed into a massive wall on stage. At the end of each show, the wall was torn down in a dramatic fashion.

Following his departure from Pink Floyd in 1985, Roger Waters did not participate in the band's subsequent tour in 1987, titled A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour. However, he did reunite with his former bandmates for a special performance at Live 8 in July 2005. The legacy of The Wall Tour and Pink Floyd's groundbreaking music continues to resonate with fans around the world, cementing their status as one of the most influential rock bands in history.
