Viu and iQIYI International Announce Joint Streaming Subscription for Southeast Asia: A Comprehensive Entertainment Experience
Viu and iQIYI International have announced a joint streaming subscription at the APOS conference, set to launch in Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia in the second half of 2026. The collaboration combines the content libraries of both platforms, offering a wide range of Asian dramas, originals, anime, and variety shows to subscribers. Viu brings Korean and Chinese dramas, Southeast Asian productions, Viu Originals, and Viu Shorts microdramas, while iQIYI International contributes premium Chinese and local originals, anime, variety programming, and microdramas. The partnership aims to provide viewers with a diverse selection of content from across the region.
During the APOS session, Viu CEO Janice Lee and iQIYI International president Yang Xianghua highlighted the strategic alliance between the two platforms. The deal marks iQIYI International's first cross-regional streaming partnership, leveraging the strengths of both platforms to offer viewers a comprehensive entertainment experience. The collaboration aims to cater to the growing demand for Asian content in the Southeast Asian markets, providing audiences with a broader range of storytelling options.
The joint subscription bundle will include popular titles such as Viu Originals "The Season" and "<kiDnap GAME>," Korean dramas "Love In Sync" and "Dream To You," as well as iQIYI International's "Pursuit of Jade," "Speed and Love," and Thai original "Khemjira." The combined offering will give subscribers access to a diverse selection of content, including local productions, international hits, and exclusive originals. The partnership between Viu and iQIYI International aims to enhance the streaming experience for viewers in Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
Both platforms will offer the joint subscription for direct purchase through their websites, with details on content, features, and device compatibility to be announced. Viu, a unit of PCCW Limited, has a strong presence in Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa, while iQIYI International operates globally in over 190 territories and 13 languages. The collaboration between Viu and iQIYI International underscores their commitment to delivering high-quality Asian content to audiences worldwide, setting the stage for a new era of streaming entertainment in the region.
