Danzig's Hellmask: From Comic Book to Film - A Dark Fantasy Journey

Glenn Danzig, the lead singer of The Misfits, is transitioning from the stage to the director's chair for his upcoming film Hellmask, which is based on his own comic book of the same name. This project will be his third feature as a director, and it is being produced by his publisher Verotik, known for its focus on dark fantasy and horror. Hellmask, originally featured in the Verotik 30th-anniversary issue in October 2023, is a story set in a brutal medieval world filled with dark magic, armored warriors, and intense battle scenes.

The plot of Hellmask revolves around a violent supernatural tale with a gothic atmosphere, promising a thrilling and dark narrative. James Cullen Bressack, a seasoned indie horror and action filmmaker, is on board as the producer for the film. The project is currently in the casting phase and is scheduled to start filming in August. Bressack, known for his recent VHS-shot horror film, brings his expertise to this new collaboration with Danzig.

Danzig has previously adapted his comic books for the screen with the release of Verotika in 2019. He also directed the vampire spaghetti-western film Death Rider in the House of Vampires, which came out in 2021. Apart from his musical career with The Misfits, Danzig is the founder of the bands Samhain and Danzig. His music has been featured in various movies, including The Hangover and Tag. With his creative talents spanning music and film, Danzig continues to make a mark in the entertainment industry.

As the production of Hellmask gears up with Danzig at the helm, fans can anticipate a visually stunning and immersive experience that combines his passion for storytelling with his unique artistic vision.
