Introducing D-Wave's Quantum Development Bundles: Gate-Model Simulator and Systems for Advanced Quantum Programming
D-Wave Quantum Inc. has introduced a new gate-model quantum computing simulator to assist developers in prototyping applications, modeling quantum processor behavior, and exploring advanced workflows in preparation for upcoming D-Wave™ gate-model systems. The simulator is designed for error-aware programming, allowing developers to gain insight into errors and design applications that respond to real processor behavior. This marks a significant advancement in D-Wave's gate-model roadmap, offering developers new tools and data to better understand quantum behavior and error-correction routines.
The new quantum development bundles from D-Wave will provide access to the gate-model quantum simulator and systems. These bundles, available in Starter and Premium packages, include monthly access allocations and guidance from D-Wave's team of experts to facilitate onboarding, flexible R&D, and maximize customer value. The pricing details for these bundles can be obtained upon request. Dr. Trevor Lanting, chief development officer at D-Wave, emphasized the importance of the gate-model quantum simulator in enabling customers to start building expertise in advance of the forthcoming gate-model quantum systems.
Once integrated into D-Wave's Leap™ cloud platform, the simulator will offer a comprehensive quantum programming toolkit with error-aware capabilities. It will support up to 21 qubits, provide tools for modeling quantum processor behavior, error detection, and real-time control, and offer integration with familiar development tools such as D-Wave's Ocean™ SDK. Scheduled to be available in September 2026, the simulator is expected to enhance developers' ability to prototype quantum applications and explore advanced workflows effectively.
