Manhunt for Kansas City Shooter: Oscar Sanchez-Muñoz Wanted for Multiple Shootings
A 22-year-old man from Independence, Missouri, named Oscar Sanchez-Muñoz, is wanted by the police for allegedly shooting at multiple people in Kansas City. The shootings occurred on June 16 along freeways and roadways, resulting in five people being shot within a 30-minute span. After the shootings, Sanchez-Muñoz was involved in a standoff with police at his residence, but he managed to escape during a house fire. The suspect is currently on the run, and the FBI has offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
One of the victims of the shootings was an Uber driver who was transporting fans to a World Cup match at Arrowhead Stadium. The driver and passengers were shot at by Sanchez-Muñoz from a passing car on the freeway. The driver sustained injuries to the leg but is expected to recover. In addition to the Uber driver, two adults and a teenager were also shot and taken to the hospital. The teenager is in stable condition, while the adults suffered non-life-threatening and life-threatening injuries.
Sanchez-Muñoz is suspected of fatally shooting a fifth person on a roadway, who later crashed into a utility pole and died from the gunshot wound.
