Darby Todd Steps in for ANTHRAX Drummer Charlie Benante Due to Hand Injury: A Look at the Renowned Session Drummer and ANTHRAX's Upcoming Album Release

ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante will be taking a break from nearly a dozen upcoming shows in Europe due to a hand injury. Renowned U.K.-based session drummer Darby Todd will be filling in for him during this period. Charlie shared the news on social media, expressing his gratitude for Darby stepping in and his eagerness to return to the stage soon. Darby previously played with ANTHRAX at a concert in Athens, Greece, and professionally filmed footage of their recent performance at Hellfest in France featuring Darby on drums is available online.
Darby Todd, known for his versatile drumming skills, has worked with various artists and bands, including THE DARKNESS, Martin Barre, and Devin Townsend. When not touring, Darby can be found in his London-based studio recording for artists worldwide and providing limited teaching. His dual citizenship in the U.K. and the USA allows him to work seamlessly in both countries.
ANTHRAX is gearing up to release their twelfth studio album, "Cursum Perficio," on September 18, marking their first album in a decade since 2016's "For All Kings." Charlie Benante, who joined ANTHRAX in 1983, is recognized for his fast double-kick technique and contributions to the band's music. Apart from drumming, Charlie is a skilled guitarist and graphic artist, having created numerous album covers and T-shirt designs for ANTHRAX.
