Police Rescue Young Girl in Lake County, Illinois from Online Predator

Police in Lake County, Illinois, rescued a young girl after a 24-year-old man from Georgia drove to meet her. The man, Jordy Alexis Fuerte Perez, was charged with solicitation of child pornography and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Additional charges are pending in the case. Deputies responded to a report of a missing girl under the age of 14 and discovered that she had disappeared in the middle of the night. Detectives found out that Fuerte Perez had been communicating with the girl and had made plans to drive from Georgia to Lake County to pick her up for a "romantic relationship." Using public safety camera technology, law enforcement located the car at Independence Grove Forest Preserve where both the child and Fuerte Perez were found. The girl was unharmed and taken to the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center for evaluation. Sheriff John D. Idleburg commended the efforts of the Criminal Investigations Division in rescuing the girl and apprehending the offender. Fuerte Perez was scheduled to appear in court, and prosecutors sought to keep him in jail pending trial.
