Accelerating Geothermal Energy Deployment in North America: Baker Hughes and Mantle Reach Power's Strategic Partnership
Baker Hughes and Mantle Reach Power have entered into a new commercial agreement to promote the large-scale deployment of geothermal energy in North America. The collaboration aims to provide clean and reliable baseload power to meet the increasing demand for energy driven by electrification and the growth of artificial intelligence and hyperscale computing. Baker Hughes will offer integrated subsurface solutions, while Mantle Reach Power will lead project development, ownership, and financing with the support of EnCap Energy Transition Fund III.
The agreement combines advanced technologies for geothermal development, construction, and operation to deliver secure and renewable energy capacity. Baker Hughes plans to leverage its portfolio of subsurface technologies, surface power generation, and digital solutions to de-risk and deliver up to 500MW of installed capacity. This partnership aims to accelerate project development, optimize risk allocation, and enhance pre-construction bankability to scale geothermal energy effectively.
