Arrest Made in Boonville Casino Robbery Case: FBI Apprehends Suspect

A man accused of a casino robbery in Boonville earlier this year has been arrested by the FBI. Hollis Vanleer Jr., 20, was apprehended in Bloomington, Illinois, and faces charges of first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, and first-degree assault. The robbery occurred on March 25, and authorities had been searching for Vanleer since then. Benjamin Charles, 21, is also charged in the case and is currently held at the Cooper County Jail. The pair allegedly stole around $1.28 million from the casino's main money drawer and fled in a Ford Taurus after a patron tried to stop them.

Law enforcement discovered a receipt in the abandoned Ford Taurus, which led them to Charles, an employee at the casino. The FBI offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to Vanleer's arrest. Stay tuned for further updates on the case.
